I just thought i would mention i get a kick out of watching people as i walk to and from classes. I am sure i have some weird habits while walking also, but it just surprises me how common it is amongst people. Are people afraid of eye contact to any extent? I guess i am just wondering...why do people stare at the ground when they walk? I can walk by ten people and i would say probably seven of them will stare at the ground. My favorite are the people that are texting as they walk. Again the other day, i witnessed a person texting finding themselves probably inches away from running into a huge post.
I guess that brings me to texting. Seriously...it is really starting to get annoying the number of people that text during classes. I realize that classes may not be the most interesting all the time, but don't complain to me when you don't hear what the professor says because you are texting. Personally, i wish that students couldn't bring their phones to class for this very reason. I normally bring my phone because i like to know what time it is. I could definitely live without knowing, but do you think a person that sends X number of texts in a day could live without their phone for like an hour? I honestly don't think they could...I guess in my opinion it is like a lot of people and the way i have seen them throw so many hours away stalking people and looking at pictures all day on facebook. The crazy things we are addicted to in this world drives me nuts sometimes. I'm not saying i am perfect because i know i am not. This isn't a rant about facebook...i know some very good things can come from facebook, but at the same time i think we all know that their are probably just as many if not more bad things that come from it.
So i normally don't do this, but it was an impressive story that got sent to me through a forward. Figured i would post it incase anyone wanted to check it out.
Seriously check out the video...it is pretty impressive and definitely shows Philippians 4:13 like the end of the video suggests.
A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?' The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together. One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together' to which his father said, 'Yes.' For those who didn't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island. Father and son went on to complete the race together. Click here to view the video of the duo.
